And I'm Back!

Sorry for checking out for a bit... life has been a little crazy. Here's an update:

I have a new nephew (Ryu), who is such a cute baby. I was there for the birth and it was amazing. Kjell did AWESOME... I am so glad to have been able to be there with her, yet again.



My niece Keira is doing so great as well... She growing up to be such a "beauty," as Starr would say and I agree!



I also got to go on a wicked cool vacation with Ashleigh Adkins family... we hit up Disneyland and then went camping. Even got to see a bear! It was an awesome trip and I am so blessed to have such great people in my life.









So now summer has come and gone and I am glad to say I am back in San Jose. For those who don't know, I got a teaching job at San Jose State University for the semester (hoping to extend it). I get to teach HS1, which is a general education course (pretty much like high school health). I am so stoked to be teaching at the University and I hope I can do it for another semester.

I love being back in the Bay area as well... Now that I don't have school breathing down my neck, I can do so some many fun things. I live in a great area, I have a good roommate, Starr is in the area (we have Tuesday night dinners), I am meeting a TON of new people and I can't wait to connect with my old friends. Pray that I can find a more permanent job here because I love it out here in San Jose.

Les Mis was AWESOME! My dad, Starr and I got to go see it last weekend and we were in awe of how great the music was. We have all seen it before, but we acted like it was the first time. We were all crying and drawn into the play by the beauty of the voices. I highly recommend seeing this amazing play.

The Take of a Butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. So the man decided to help the butterfly, he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If are allow go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. And we could never fly. So have a nice day and struggle a little. : )
